Congradulations! Baptism 14/9/08 Bonnie

Greetings fellow brothers!

Here are some pictures of that special day where Bonnie committed himself to Christ. His testimony was awesome and he looked like a stud. May the Holy Spirit guide you Bonnie, and use you to shine his glory.

The Power of Confession and Prayers

Heya everyone!!

Just thought I'd share with you all a devotion that I had done a while ago while studying the Lord's Word. The Lord's Word is full of wisdom, life and spirit. Amen!

James 5:16a "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."

From this verse, we see that to be healed, we are called to do two things. We are called to confess our sins to each other and to pray for each other. Firstly, in confessing our sins to each other, we are to have open, honest, and transparent relationships with each other. Indeed, as we fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ, trust and love will be developed and we can be more comfortable in confessing our sins to one another. In New Life Christian Community, we encourage every member of the church to be in a life group. It is in these groups where relationships can be built between members in the group. It is also in these groups where we can confess our sins to the open so that the devil cannot lay accusations against us and bring us under condemnation.

From this verse, we are also called to pray for each other. As we pray for one another, we are expressing our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour. We believe that Jesus Christ bore all our sins on the Cross and that we have become righteous through Jesus Christ. As it is written in the Word, 'God made Jesus who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.' (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Furthermore, we believe that Jesus was pierced for our transgressions on the Cross and was crushed for our iniquities. By His wounds, we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5) So as we pray, we believe that through the work of the Cross, we can exchange our sickness for divine health and healing.

In effect, as we confess our sins to each other and pray for each other, we will be healed. Any sickness that was in our body will be removed in Jesus' Name, and any sins that made us guilty would be forgiven in Jesus' Name. So, if you need healing in your physical body or in your spiritual life, I encourage you to put God's Word into action. Confess your sins to the brothers and sisters in whom you trust, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. Amen!

God bless everyone :-)
